A woman’s look is deeply influenced by her hair style and color. Although our natural color complements our skin tone it doesn’t always highlight our best features. For example a natural blonde with a light skin tone can sometimes look faded. However by dyeing her hair in an intense dark brown her features will stand out. On the other hand if her skin is too white the dark brown hair color will only make her look paler. Dark brown is a natural hair color that many women have. However if this is not your natural color there are a couple of things that you must keep in mind before dyeing your hair.
The first thing that you must keep in mind is your natural skin tone. While the chestnut brown for example is a color that can be worn by everybody a dark brown hair color is not as easy to pull of. The perfect hair color must complement the skin and highlight the features. Dark, olive and golden are the best skin tones for dark browns. If you really want to go darker but are not completely sure if it fits you can start with a light brown and gradually go darker until you reach your desired color. The color of your eyes is also very important. Although some people are infatuated by the combination between blue eyes and blonde hair, darker hair is more likely to highlight the blue eyes.
In order to adapt a brown hair color to your skin tone you could try ribbons of medium brown. Highlight are also a great way to spice up a dark brown color. You can ask your hair stylist to work with your natural color and highlight the lower part of the hair, following the line of the hair style. As for the color of the highlights you can choose medium ash brown, a milky chocolate or an espresso tone. When choosing a dark brown hair color make sure that you also take into account your height. For example if you have very long hair and are also tall and thin you will look very good. However if you are rather short, a long dark hair will look overwhelming. In order to avoid this effect you can style your hair in layers so that you add movement to your hair and it doesn’t hide your face and body shape.
